Live Performance
Mike has had the great pleasure of being the resident pianist at the Cullinan and Cape Sun hotel for many years. He thoroughly enjoys playing at these lovely venues. Although particularly well known as a jazz pianist, Mike also plays a wide variety of genres of music and offers an extensive and varied repertoire. As a versatile piano player, Mike can provide instrumental music for many different types of events, from wedding receptions to cocktail evenings and black tie events.
Piano Lessons
Mike has enjoyed teaching piano for many years. Since leaving the Jazz Workshop as a teacher there, he has continued to offer private piano lessons. He teaches all styles and genres of music. Whether it’s jazz, blues, Latin, rock or South African music you’re interested in, Mike won’t simply teach you how to play songs; he will teach you piano playing techniques and theory which will help you to understand what you are doing on the piano so that you can improvise and truly express yourself.
